The Film Developing Cookbook can be an up-to-time manual for contemporary film advancement techniques. He has carried out over 80 photographic and darkroom workshops since 1979.
The Film Developing Cookbook particularly addresses the difficult subject matter of T-grain film advancement. It offers rarely found details on film advancement and the type of film programmers. They reject the craze toward `scientific evaluation’ of films and developers and only the photographer creating a personal aesthetic without relying specifically on densitometry or H&D curves. They deal with many of the broadly recognized “myths” of film advancement. The authors consider bold and controversial stances on many broadly approved film developing dogmas. His earlier two books with Focal Press, The Darkroom Cookbook and The Variable Comparison Printing Manual are digital photography best-retailers. He has created columns, feature content, and interviews for Camera & Darkroom, Look at Camera, PIC, Shutterbug, Image Shopper, and PhotoPro periodicals.
Steve Anchell is normally a contributing editor to Outdoor Professional photographer and PhotoWork journals.
Steve’s photographs have already been exhibited in galleries and so are shown in private selections. He photos and prints both color and black-and-white with 35mm, 2¼ and large-format ccameras. As the initial Darkroom Cookbook focused on photographic chemical substances and formulae, this publication specializes in films, their features, and the programmers each requires for optimum control of the resulting picture. Steve is currently this program director for the Photographer’s Formulary Workshops in Condon, Montana. In early 1998, the first assortment of his personal function, entitled The Nude at Big Sur, will end up being released by Whitefish Editions.
